efficiency vs. equity

"How can governments balance efficiency and equity when implementing public policies?"

 

 

I think equity and efficiency are both values that governments must consider. However, there is a difference in when and how they should be applied. When designing policies and allocating resources such as the budget, the government must decide who will receive these resources. At that stage, equity should take priority over efficiency. On the other hand, during policy implementation, efficiency becomes more critical. The government should monitor whether the resources are reaching the intended recipients and ensure that administrative costs are kept to a minimum
